This diminutive studio, gallery and meeting space replaced an existing 400 square foot garage in a tight, semi-urban setting. Natural light is provided by an oversized north-facing skylight while folding glass doors open to the newly created landscaped courtyard. Passing through the filigreed aluminum gate designed by Eric Laxman, the courtyard is connected to Nyack’s iconic Edward Hopper house property.
