Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians
of Columbus State University
Nyack, New York

The celebrated novelist and playwright, Carson McCullers lived and wrote from 1945-1967 in this National Register-listed historic house. It is being carefully restored, inside and out for the College’s Residency and Study Away programs. The focus is on code compliance, accessibility and energy efficiency, while preserving original details and character. Upon completion, the main level will be open to the larger Nyack community for lectures, readings and concerts.
