A two-story concrete block office building was renovated to be an artist’s studio, office and archival space. A floor was removed to create a 24-foot ceiling in the large studio area and clerestory windows provide indirect natural light. Other areas of the building include a second painting studio, library, offices and storage.
The exterior CMU walls were clad with a STO, Lotusan insulation system, adding an additional R-20 to the wall assembly. Most of the original parking lot was removed, topsoil added and a meadow established as an outdoor space for environmental scale sculpture.
